Lost and Found Figure

Lost and Found Figure, Fine Art
Lost and Found Figure
I often find myself disappointed with my final piece, instead wishing I could go back to the work in the progress. I find myself more enamored with the free flowing lines I am able to create during the early stages, it invokes a freedom and movement the artwork that I can't always replicate in the final. While I may be proud of my work, sometimes the refined, clean lined pieces are not as intriguing as it's early stage where the viewer's mind is allowed to fill in the gaps and follow the movement of the loose and free flowing sketch. I created this piece to appeal to each side of my mind, the final polished figure drawing, and the loose stage to suggest and be free of over-working lines.

Artist Statement
Heya! I'm Kaylie Grimes and right now I am going for an AAS in Visual Art & Design, but I am trying to explore different avenues for art such as Animation or 3D modeling/sculpting/animating to get a feel for what I want to do as a career.
My biggest inspiration for anything is usually from games ranging from video games to even tabletop RPGs- but anytime I watch Avatar: The Last Airbender, I am so incredibly inspired to create. That show remains to be one the biggest things pushing me to pursue a degree in the arts.
